event terms and conditions
Effective Date: 17 February 2025 By purchasing a ticket to Wild For Life 2025, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not purchase a ticket.
1. Agreement to Terms
- By registering for Wild For Life 2025, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read these carefully before completing your registration. If you do not agree with any of the terms, you should not register or attend the event.
2. Event Details
- Wild For Life 2025 will take place on Wednesday 2 April 2025, at Taronga Zoo Sydney, from 8:30am to 6pm. The event is organised by the Council of Australian Life Insurers (CALI). All conference details, including schedules, speakers, and content, are subject to change.
3. Registration
- To attend the conference, you must complete the registration process, including submitting your details and payment.
- Registration is confirmed only once payment has been received in full.
- The conference may be subject to capacity limits. Early registration is recommended to guarantee your place.
4. Payment and Fees
- All registration fees must be paid in full at the time of booking.
- Prices of the conference tickets are:
- Early bird:
- Member: $750 AUD
- Non-member: $850 AUD
- Main registration:
- Member: $850 AUD
- Non-member: $950 AUD
- Early bird:
- There is an additional 1.95% processing fee for each transaction.
- Payment is accepted via Stripe, and receipts will be sent to the registered email address.
5. Cancellations and Refunds
- Cancellations by Attendee:

- Tickets are non-refundable.
- Requests for cancellations must be submitted in writing to hello@cali.org.au
- No-Show Policy: If you fail to attend the conference, no refund or transfer of the registration fee will be offered.
- Cancellations by CALI: If the event is cancelled by CALI, you will be offered at CALI’s discretion either a full refund of your registration fee or have your ticket transferred to a future event. CALI is not responsible for travel or accommodation expenses incurred by attendees.
6. Change of Mind / Transfers
- If you change your mind about attending the conference after registration, you may transfer your registration to another individual at no additional cost, provided that the transfer is requested no later than 17 March 2025.
- Requests for name changes or transfers must be submitted in writing to hello@cali.org.au no later than 17 March 2025.
7. Special Requests and Accessibility
- CALI is committed to ensuring all attendees have a positive experience. If you have any special requirements, such as dietary restrictions, accessibility needs, or other requests, please notify us as soon as possible and no later than 17 March, 2025.
- We will make every effort to accommodate reasonable requests, but we cannot guarantee that all requests can be fulfilled.
8. Code of Conduct
- All attendees must behave in a professional manner during the conference. Disruptive behaviour, harassment, or illegal activities will not be tolerated.
- The conference is being held at Taronga Zoo, Sydney and all attendees must comply with the zoo’s rules and regulations, including guidelines for safety around animals and appropriate conduct in animal habitats.
- CALI reserves the right to remove any attendee from the event without refund if they are found violating the code of conduct, including behaviour that endangers the safety and well-being of animals or other attendees.
9. Taronga Zoo Walking Tour – Risks and Safety
- The conference will include a walking tour of Taronga Zoo Sydney’s exhibits, and attendees will be in proximity to various animals. While the zoo takes all reasonable precautions to ensure safety, by attending, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks involved in being in an environment with animals.
- Attendees must follow all safety instructions given by the zoo staff and event organisers during the walking tour. Attendees must remain a safe distance from animals and refrain from any behaviour that could provoke or endanger them.
- CALI and Taronga Zoo are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage incurred during the zoo walking tour, except where such loss or injury is due to the negligence or wilful misconduct of CALI or the zoo.
10. Photography, Video Recording, and Social Media
- By attending the conference, you grant CALI the right to take photographs, video recordings, and audio recordings of the event. These materials may be used for promotional, marketing, educational, or media purposes.
- You acknowledge and agree that any content you share on social media, including but not limited to photos, videos, and comments related to the event, may be reposted or used by CALI for promotional purposes without compensation.
- Attendees may take photos and record the event for personal, non-commercial use, provided it does not interfere with the event or other attendees’ experiences. Commercial use of event media without prior written consent from CALI is prohibited.
11. Liability and Responsibility
- CALI is not responsible for any loss, injury, or damage to personal property during the conference, except where such loss or injury is due to the negligence or wilful misconduct of CALI.
- Attendees are responsible for their personal belongings and should take necessary precautions to safeguard them.
- CALI is not responsible for any personal injuries or incidents arising from attending the zoo or participating in the walking tour.
12. Event Changes or Cancellation
- CALI reserves the right to modify or cancel the event in the event of unforeseen circumstances (e.g., speaker unavailability, acts of nature, or government restrictions). If the event is significantly altered or cancelled, attendees will be notified promptly.
- In the case of a significant event change, CALI will notify options for refunds, transfers, or alternative arrangements.
13. Personal Data
- By registering for the event, you consent to CALI collecting and processing your personal data in accordance with our privacy policy, which can be found at here. Our privacy policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and protected.
14. Governing Law
- These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in NSW.
15. Force Majeure
- CALI will not be held responsible for failure to perform its obligations due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, government regulations, or technical failures.
